Unfortunately, no one can be told what the Matrix is. You have to see it for yourself.

You take the blue pill, the story ends. You go back to sleep and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill, you wake up and stay in the wonderland, and I'll show you how deep the rabbit hole goes.

The Matrix is the system. The system is our enemy. But when you're inside, you look around, what do you see? Businessmen, teachers, lawyers, carpenters. The very minds of the people we are trying to save. But until we do, these people are still a part of that system and that makes them our enemy. You have to understand, most of these people are not ready to be unplugged. And many of them are so inured, so hopelessly dependent on the system, that they will fight to protect it.

The Matrix is everywhere. It is all around us. Even now, in this very room. You can see it when you look out your window or when you turn on your television. You can feel it when you go to work. When you go to vote. When you go to church. It is the world that has been pulled over your eyes to blind you from the truth.

Let me tell you why you're here. You're here because you know something. What you know you can't explain, but you feel it. You've felt it your entire life, that there's something wrong with the world. You don't know what it is, but it's there, like a splinter in your mind, driving you mad. It is this feeling that has brought you to me. Do you know what I'm talking about?

Yeah they can describe it, but you have to actively choose to hear it. Are you able to imagine being colourblind? Well, if someone points to a shade of brown (to you) and says ‘this is purple’ do you then somehow know what purple is? No. But if you really wanted to know what purple looked like, then you would need to take an active role in your own edification.

The point is quotes 3 and 4 are refuting quote 1.

If you stick with "no one can describe purple" then go on and attempt to describe it, would you agree that contradicts itself?

It’s a conundrum... but if I tried to describe purple to you, it might help you identify it, but until you’d seen the actual colour purple (lol) then you would only have a theoretical idea of it. Just like the matrix - you can ABOUT it but until you experience it, it’s not ‘real’.
