Looks more like he replied to himself as a continuation of his statement. I do it sometimes. It basically allows the first comment to be shorter and more attention grabbing as a result. If you just edit in the next statement your odds of TLDR go way up. If someone cares enough to see more based on my first statement they will see my follow up in the reply to myself.
