This is yet another common practiceof abusive moderators, which is often used in combination with fishing and ban traps:

They accuse the user of misconduct in non-obvious cases, e.g. Westwall of Metapedia (see Rank 4) accusing a user of misconduct for adding a factually correct category to a page.

When the user reasonably and politely asked Westwall for an explanation to avoid repeating the alleged mistake in future , we all know what happened:

bEcAuSE I SaID sO

. . and then the user got banned for a month.

Watch out for cancer moderators using gaslighting practices.

And if an administrator sides with an abusive moderator, let that community rot and join one that takes users seriously (e.g. Poal.co).

My banhammer story is kinda funny. I banned a guy from a sub for an hour just to give him shit while I talked to him on mumble. It was all just banter. I've never seriously banned anyone in my life. I just knew this particular retard couldn't help himself and would make me forcibly chuckle b/c of what came next. REEEEEEEE, and then I unbanned him. What's the point of being a dog w/o a cat? What's the point of being a cat w/o a mouse? REEEEEEEEEEE

A one-hour ban is usually more of a mild slap in the user's face.

Also, it is abusive in case the alleged user misconduct is non-obvious , see the example in the post.

If it is obvious (e.g. for preventing vandalism), then no explanation is necessary.

Oh it was a slap in the face, done to a person I've talked to many times. The real tragedy is I never cared enough about his well being to permanently ban him. I should have. Instead I watched him slowly kill himself for the simple fact he's rude and rubberneckers always watch a train wreck. I myself am far from perfect. I just try to be funnier everyday for my failed comedy career. Only takes one well placed nigger joke to make a star.
