Information:

  • Communities being listed here does not imply that we disagree with their mission, but that members should expect being treated with hostility by their respective moderators and/or administrators.
  • Abusive moderators and administrators listed on this leaderboard might be lowered or de-listed, if they publicly apologize to their victims infront of their community, undo their damage and don't repeat their misconduct.
    • Dispute: If a moderator or administrator listed here believes that they behaved appropriately , they are kindly invitedto logically justify and clarify their actions, or clear up possible misunderstandings in an explanatory comment.
    • We might ask you to authenticate yourself through a confirmation posted by your original account, if you claim to be a user from another site than Poal.co (e.g. a user listed on the leaderboard above), in order to prevent someone from pretending to be someone they are not.
    • Be thankful we even give you the option to do so. Most hostile mods/admins give your users zero recourse and/or neglected their appeals entirely .
  • In contrary, moderators and administrators who persist inflicting damage and whose already abusive behaviour deteriorates, might have their rank increased.
  • As the owner of a community (e.g. Jason Scott), you obviously are by no means obligated (except morally obligated) to behave nice, fair and respectfully. But if you misbehave like the mods/admins listed above, then you should expect being thought of as hostile and being disrecommended by former users or witnesses, which deters new and existing users from joining or staying in your community, which hinders its flourishment. It is _your_ responsibility.
  • Don't blame us for being listed here. Every time you choose to behave hostile and counter-productively, you gamble with the trust of your users and you actively solicit being judged over it and publicly criticized for it. If you don't want that, please treat your community better. Choose civility over hostility.
    • This leaderboard is not defamatory , because it presents subjects as they are. Expect being judged based on how you present yourself.
    • Propose any changes by commenting.

Because posts on Poal.co get archived (i.e. locked and read-only) automatically after three months, an updated version of this leaderboard will be linked in the side bar, in the “Hall of shame” section, after this post expires.

You actually put some work into formatting this and I'm now interested. It's far better than the lazy shitposts I create.

Thanks for the feedback!

I am delighted you like it.

What is moderatorship/administratorship abuse?

(Text moved here from the sidebar due to the 8000-character limitation of the sidebar.)

Moderatorship abuse, short Mod abuse is when a moderator or administrator in an online community, such as a Subreddit, abuses his powers to supress innocent users.

This includes the deletion of legitimate posts and banning (or shadowbanning ) a member for no apparent reason or based on prejudice.

Moderatorship abuse can also include thanklessness (lack of gratitude), verbal abuse and false accusations towards innocent users.

An abusive moderator/administrator might neglect or dispute the predominant productive contributions of a member, while highlighting their comparatively minor mistakes.

Targeted members of moderatorship abuse are usually not in a position to defend themselves due to the authority bias of the other members and confirmation bias of the moderator in the abused member's disfavour. Even if the other members know that the moderator or administrator is abusing his powers, they are unable to speak up because they risk being abused and/or banned as well.

There was usually no definitive place to uncover and expose a misbehaving authority in power of an Internet community, but now, there is this place!

The story

For a long time, innocent users of online communities who were scolded and kicked out by hostile moderation/administration had no dedicated place to educate other Internet users about unfavourable experiences they made in the online community. They were on their own, without recourse, and insane moderators and administrators could keep cyberbullying one user after another, without remorse, without being held accountable.

Now, there is this place.

Frankly, we are sick of online communities which falsely advertise themselves as (one or more of the following: ) a welcoming space, open-minded, thankful to contributors, and striving for a mission , while actually internally being lead by hostile, prejuidical and unthankful moderators and/or administrators who act against the purpose of their own community, devalue productive good-faith users and prejuidically ban them without allowing a discussion.

Now it's your turn. Share your experiences and spare fellow Internet users the headache from online hostility.

Also, inform your friends about /s/ModAbuseso they have a place to go the next time they encounter a ravenous moderator and administrator.

Thank you for creating this place.
I was completely on my own (along with Elliot Algase, also known as “ealgase” , another banned ArchiveTeam member). But now, there is finally a place for exposing these morons.

Thank you for creating this place.

You're welcome, AT!

But now, there is finally a place for exposing these morons.

Indeed!
Expose 'em all!

#ExposingBbb23

Well done!

[–] 0 pt 5y

Thanks!

I hope they will soon realize that Bbb23 is logically harming Wikipedia more than he is helping Wikipedia.

[–] 1 pt 5y

NinjaRobotPirate blocks returning "socks" even if they honestly admit to it, and contribute positively. Confirmed.

[–] 0 pt 5y

Thank you for sharing your experience.

Hopefully, Wikipedia will one day (hopefully soon) no longer be so hostile.

They are acting counter-productively and against their own mission.

[–] 1 pt 5y (edited 5y)

Bbb23: Disagree and you are a troll.

Bbb23 calls everyone who does not agree with him a troll .

Either agree, or be a troll.

Bbb23's favourite word, presumably.

[–] 1 pt 5y

Bbb23's territory is not safe as long as he is there.
Thank you for exposing him.

[–] 0 pt 5y

Bbb23's territory is not safe as long as he is there.

Absolutely.

[–] 0 pt 5y

Bbb23 told me:

“I am giving you some leeway to say something useful…”

Lie. Bbb23 gives zero leeway for anything.

[–] 1 pt 5y

You should make a separate column for 'website'

[–] 0 pt 5y

Actually, it was originally separately.
I did both in one column to spare some screen width.

What is the benefit for having a separate column, that outweighs the spared screen width?

[–] 1 pt 5y

It makes it easier to read.

You can also limit the width of the Misconduct column and its font size with some custom CSS.

[–] 2 pts 5y

Ok.

But I will also have to test it with narrower screen widths (i.e. mobile) through my browser's developer tools.

Also, the misconduct column actually needs the most space due to the information contents.

Disclaimers:

This text was originally a part of the side bar, but moved here because the 8000 character limit was exhausted.

Reader's disclaimer:

  • Content posted here does not necessarily represent the opinion of the moderators of this board or the operators of this website. (Obvious, but mentioned just in case.)
  • We do not encourage witch-hunting , but keeping away from hostile communities and seeking alternatives.
  • Also, we appreciate your constructive criticism.

Abuse reportee's disclaimer:

Before personally judging and hating on a legitimate abuse reporter who reported you, please note that through your hostility and presumably misconductive and suppressive actions, either passively or actively, you solicited being thought of as hostile and being called out for moderatorship abuse or administratorship abuse.
You carry responsibility for your actions and your position.

If you think otherwise, you are encouraged to join the conversation . Either logically clarify your actions, or apologize to the user and undo the damage if possible.

Please consider that your hostility does harm your own community and your reputation.

Also, adapt your behaviour and be more community-friendly in future, to offer your users a more vigorous environment.

Everyone makes mistakes, but those who close-mindedly refuse to acknowledge their wrongdoings and refuse to learn from them do hinder progress and kill innovation.

Hostility & prejudice doesn't help anyone.
