The article says the Trump administration put in extra hurdles, but they don't say what they are and why they did it. Bit of fuckery there.
Also, they keep comparing immigrant recruits today to the ones back in the late 1700s, as if there is any fucking comparison to the state of the US between then and now, and use it to justify policy today.
If their statement on immigrant recruits being more cost effective is true, I'd say it makes sense since these people have already gone through one of our filters to get to the US (legally I'm presuming).
