We have those though? LHAs, LHDs, and LPHs. These all have the added bonus of being able to launch submersible drones as all three classes are designed for amphibious landings. You could even use LSDs and LPDs which are smaller and have the same capability of launching submersible drones.
Using a battleship for that makes very little sense. You'd use a battleship for something much more specialized, like that mythical rail gun the Navy has been working on since the 80s or 90s. Now...now that makes sense.
