The Army can be really stupid, but 10 mph is kinda a lot for on post. There are folks doing PT, kids walking to school, etc, everywhere all the time. This is closer to losing your license for speeding through a school zone than losing it for one normal speeding ticket.
I don't know what the answer is, but this is more complicated than what some of the comments make it seem.
I don’t speed on base. That’s easy. The guy hitting +10 was an absolute moron.
Yes his death was sad, but it wasn’t the fault of the base commander who was heavy handed in his attempt to stop speeding.
Who the eff does PT in the middle of the road? Retards? Every base has shit tons of open space for PT without clogging up roads.
Lierally everyone. You run the roads, and at a place like Bragg there are tens of thousands doing it daily.
The problem there is leadership not telling soldiers to move the eff out of the road. Everyone outside the military figured this out a century ago.
