This is absolutely fucking unacceptable.

From the post: "In 2021, an employee with the Department of Veterans Affairs in Aurora alerted leadership to a troubling practice within the federal agency’s Eastern Colorado Health Care System, a vast network providing services for 100,000 veterans. The whistleblower worked for the Prosthetic and Sensory Aids Service, which supplies military veterans with artificial limbs, wheelchairs, surgical implants, glasses, hearing aids and other devices to help them live more functional lives."

Happens all over the fucking VA. One of our guys at our VFW has glaucoma and cataracts at the same time during his visit to the Knoxville VA Hospital in 2020, That's three years ago and he is still trying to get an appointment; calling the appointments line, writing letters, even wrote to is (((congressman))). No luck. He finally went to the Vanderbilt eye Clinic (a 3 hour drive with his granddaughter driving). Had to pay $7,500 up front because the only "insurance" he has is Medicare and his VA benefits (100% disability, missing a leg, 3 Purple Hearts from Vietnam). Docs there told him heed needed to have cataract surgery immediately and special medication for glaucoma for rest of his life (he's 83 or 84 years old). Another $55,000 to be paid up front. We raised $5,000 for his first visit, but all of us are tapped out. Most likely, he won't be able to afford any more "medical care" and will go blind in next few months. Letter from his (((congressman))) said that "The VA Ombudsman is closely examining this situation" --- that letter was two years ago and nothing heard since then.

I am so fucking sick of hearing stories like this. We have billions of $$$ to give to other nations or to the Illegals entering or already in the country yet we can't help a injured vet that gave his life for his country. I don't want to say it but the US is a failed nation at this point. Too many parasites in the bones sucking it dry while treating its own people, its protectors, like absolute trash.

I want my tax dollars making sure those that fought for us to be taken care of. Not teaching "gender studies" in some shit hole in the 3rd world. I am sorry to hear about your guy at the VFW. Depending on the size of the state you are in.. there is more luck to be found going down to the Governor level. That assumes that your governor is not a pos though.
