As I was leaving back in the early 2Ks, they were wavering in egregious levels of class IV folks (retards, obese, and felons) to make numbers... add to it, that I found out early on, the levels of fraud gone to to ensure funding comes in... every little thing from a pack of pencils to multi-millions dollar weapon systems depends on what's in the NDAA and that is dependent on what numbers are reported to congress.

When I was a recruiter 99-02. The standard for most branches was a 31 on the ASVAB... if you get a fucking 31 you are a retard. Straight truth. In Camden NJ, 31 was the smart end of the pool of applicants.

Here is the kicker and what isn't told to most. The Army takes down to 18... (State National Guards routinely take down to 18 and are used as feeders for full time Army)

Honestly. I wasn't allowed to put in what was referred to as a beta (alpha score of 99-51 / beta 50-0), unless I have 3 alphas for it, But that was USMC standards. Which oddly enough, are actually higher than most other branches. Even end of quarter when we were hurting for people, I could not submit a beta...
