The JROTC in the junior high near me awards promotions in rank based solely on how many others you recruit. It's a recruitment based pyramid scheme. This isn't necessarily bad in and of itself. It's the people that control the military that are at fault. Diminishing the ranks of the US military will make those rogue deep state actors more vulnerable, I agree with that logic. But at some point, the weakness of the US military will encourage foreign conquest. If we don't have a stable replacement for the US government when this occurs, we run the risk of swapping one corrupt body of rulers for a new, similarly corrupt entity.
