good question. I am not certain if Colt pushes that caliber or not - I would assume if 6.8 was the de facto going forward and Sig already had it, that might've been the acquisition edge necessary for contract award. From what I gather, dropping 5.56 was was going to happen no matter what; 7.62 just cutting it any either. I know the 6.5 Grendle was tossed around a few special units, so it seems that's the way it was going to go.
As for the P320, I get there were [serious] growing pains [design flaw], but I would never trade in mine. It is the sweetest pistol I have ever fired - and dead accurate.
