The president of the 10,000+ employee company I work for sent the employees a mass e-mail regarding taking a moment to acknowledge veterans. I just sent this: “ I appreciate their integrity and sacrifice. It is unfortunate, however, that the majority of those sacrifices for the past 40 or so years have not been to defend our borders from encroachment, but rather to enrich the interests of war profiteers and/or Israel. Unfortunately, the average, indoctrinated, boots-on-the-ground soldier will not have figured this out until they have lost limbs (or life) in service to a Military Industrial Complex that has little regard for our national sovereignty and the spread of democracy as we were taught in our high school Civics classes. Bless their souls and may God make them see through the propaganda of wicked and powerful men who used them as cannon fodder for their greed and devious machinations.”
