Simple fact: No one cares about the politics of the military unless they plan to use the military for political purposes. They are PLANNING on using the military domestically. They are PLANNING on giving the military orders which they think the current military command would reject as 'unlawful orders'. You don't purge people who will object to the orders unless you think the orders will be objectionable.
