A shout out for my fallen brother:
DUNLAP, Sgt. Brian E. Currently of Vista, CA, was killed in Iraq September 24, 2005, age 34. Sgt. Dunlap was part of a military transition team advising and training the Iraqi army. Brian Dunlap was born in Fort Madison, Iowa and lived in Boston, MA and Holland before moving to Carmichael. He attended Del Campo High and was a member of their ROTC program. He joined the Marines in 1995. In 2002 he was discharged from the Marines and became a firefighter for the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection. Dunlap re-enlisted in the Marine Reserves in June 2004. He was a member of the Emerald Society, a traditional Irish Honor Guard organization for firefighters. He was known as one of the most engaging personalities due to his ability to make friends; Brian never met a stranger. Brian also had an incredible sense of who he was in life. He is survived by his mother, Dorothy Telles; father, Dexter Dunlap; and brother, Patrick Dunlap.
