I assume that means CIA.

The article was saying that it looked like a Chinese attack. Who knows?

Cyber attacks are always spiked with false attributes to cover the tracks: VPN origin, comments in a foreign language, timestamps from a timezone far away. If an attack looks like Chinese, it is anything but that.

What? So maybe the “cyber attack” on the US pipeline might not have been Russian?!?

The group that has claimed to be partially responsible for the US pipeline's ransomware stunt is suspected to be Russian. Their motivation was money. This appears to be very different, as the prize is military secrets.

NBC last night (overheard it at a friend’s house) was talking about ties to “Muh Russian Intelligence,” for the pipeline “attack.” Anybody can “claim” responsibility for an event - that’s why they withhold details about serial killings from the public to weed out the crazy attention seekers who didn’t commit the crimes but want credit.
