You've got many opinions on 'Iraqi Freedom' and they generally avoid this simple but apparent truth: Post 9/11 the number one oil and energy producing nations in the world were 1 Saudi Arabia 2 Iraq and 3 Russia. Invading Saudi Arabia would have opened the door for a Russian invasion of Iraq posturing Russia as the primary energy and oil source for NATO. You see we had long standing weapons sale agreements with both Sunni Saudi Arabia and their unofficial allies yet well known Israeli allies. This was done to combat the Shiite muslims in Iran... (the ones that constantly chant "death to america and israel" as a result of all Jimmy Carter's fuck ups.) Some will say the Jews did 9/11, some will say the Saudi's did 9/11, and some will say Bush did 9/11. In a broad sense they're all correct however the US responded to a Saudi born threat in the manner it did for 2 specific reasons: -Secure NATO from Russo-Chinese energy inroads -Protect Israel (just look up how many in the house and senate have dual US/Israeli citizenship, your jaw will drop. It's all funny as fuck b/c it was all for nothing... Germany signed a deal w/ Russia for a natural gas pipeline, the EU members of the UN won't support renewed sanctions on Iran, we've been taking advantage of by NATO member states for decades not living up to their 2% gdp agreement. As a response to specifically germany's unwillingness to live up to this while we foot the bill for their defense we moved thousands of soldiers to Poland hurting the local economy around the base b/c despite poland being a poorer country they live up to their 2% agreement. Immediately after merkel banned travel from the US b/c our handling of Coronavirus while their own EU member Sweden implemented no lockdown at all and just let the elderly voluntarily self isolate. Sweden's economy emerged from Coronavirus the most intact of all EU states. To be fair though if they shut down the economy they couldn't afford all their welfare muslims that would burn down the country the minute the welfare stops. The real mindfuck is the US when you realize the FBI crime statistics lump in Hispanics w/ whites so blacks look better. Non-hispanic whites interestingly happen to be incredibly peaceful as a whole. Blacks tend to shoot as a reaction to outside stimuli while being armed, hispanics tend to be more financially and less emotionally motivated, while white mass shooters though rare are like the high score kings of premeditation. Despite this non-hispanic whites in the US are only slightly more violent per crime statistics than our most peaceful demographic. Asians. It's like when you look at the shooting statistics in Switzerland where the population is predominantly white and most the citizens owned automatic weapons per govt. policy for many years. Predominantly white country that's nearly homogenous w/ lax gun control has no mass shootings. They're rare in in AUS, UK, and CAN as well where the populations vary from 87%-90% white iirc per last census I read. Their gun control has been effective b/c they're mainly white and the low availability of firearms.
