i'd very much like to build something like that, but i'd build a pickup. would have to be a carb. go with a mechanical ignition system (old school points) and then shield the distributor and isolate it electrically. or maybe even a diesel with propane injection. isolated faraday cages, one for occupants, one mounted under the hood for surveillance/communications electronics. I've got great designs for lighting. isolatable cooling system with an emergency bypass (rip marvin). long travel suspension with tunable suspension (air bags) to go from speed mode to off road to hauling. i'd go with those airless equipment tires. have to build up the power train to handle the extra torque requirements. wouldn't want shitty little c/v axles to handle that load. would be a balancing act, speed and maneuverability vs ruggedness and off road capability. throw in a very basic electronics package and you could have it drive itself with a 2.4 ghz rc controller. I don't know enough about radar to do anything about that. I imagine youd want to soften up hard metallic angles. maybe something like that vantablack coating.

I've no doubt you could make similar modifications to a late model pickup truck. Insurgents in the third world prefer American pickup trucks for their mobile light infantry vehicles.
