Literally no idea 'we just let him grow....' Dunno man, personally i doubt that line of reasoning. But meh ... They had a steer but rather than take him to the abattoir at 2 yrs or whatever - they just let him grow and surprise surprise he's ends up being a one in million genetic aberration.

This would make sense for bulls, but not steers. If your goal was to breed the biggest cows possible, you'd want to wait to see how big the bulls got.
Oh totally - however this thing is 'neutered'. So i have no clue. (maybe previous generations flushed with growth hormones ???).
