It's just a theory, but remember when it dries you're going to have to do something to get the paint off. Latex paint on glass can be scraped off easily by a razorblade. If you add oil to it, it's probably going to take a hell of a lot more to get it off.

Maybe. Like I said it doesn’t sound right, but I don’t know enough about paint to dispute it

Well, any latex based paint is basically just a paintable condom. Adding oil to it makes it significantly nastier to deal with. Though you could just cut out the middleman and use an oil based paint- but then you don't get to add delicious used motor oil with all the wonderful added carcinogens.

Use oil based paint like Rustoleum or XO Rust.
