Wouldn’t all but the highest end, handmade guitars be CNC router?
I think it would matter on the volume produced.
CNC - along with 3d printing - is very good for prototyping and small volume production - think up to 20-50 copies depending on size.
Once a higher volume is desired, there are way better options than cnc/3d printing.
The guitar he makes is solid - except for the cutouts for different areas. That is a) heavy, and b) wasteful, since the entire block is used for one guitar.
I would imagine if there was a high volume of these, it would be better to slice a block of wood into thin slices, and press cut the shape of the top and bottom, along with a second process for the sides, etc.
Of course, mass production requires a very good prototyping test process to make sure the sound is perfect.
