she was looking for anything and everything at this point.
Lie. She found a job.
I understand leaving a job you don't like. I've been there. However, I know there are lots of jobs I'm not suited for: all retail jobs. Correct, I'm not suitable for any job that entails dealing with the general public. Hospitality industry. I can't cook or wait tables, besides the fact I'd have to deal with the general public. Health care, nope not for me. Ok, rather than list all the jobs I'm either not qualified for or don't like, I'll list the only jobs I'll consider: highly technical engineering jobs. I don't even want to be a manager. That entails dealing with employees. Oddly enough, I don't mind going to customer sites with technical troubleshooting. I've even done training sessions with hundreds of people. Not a problem.
I actually enjoy working in finance. I've worked for many large corporations you know. While I don't like the companies themselves, I like dealing with the other employees there. I briefly worked for a truly evil corporation and quit after 1 week. Unfortunately, they bought a company I worked for and it didn't take long to see the writing on the wall. I had to go. You probably know this corporation too well.
