Worked for a security software company -- one of maybe top 3 (and not the one that made news last year by bricking every Windows machine that used them). Me, Linux endpoint developer. Got bought up by a very magnificent wares shop. Before the hockey whack, when we were still our own boss, management decided to turn my product over to Pune, India, team. Move me on to a cloud product. Whatever. Helping spin up the Pune team I explain a little double-step we had to do as devs to debug our product since it was heavily permissions-protected. The response? "That won't be a problem since I always run as root." From the manager of the dev team.
That's the level of technical competence these workers muster. Zero.
OFC the pajeet says "I just run as root for everything". Yeah, that explains a lot.
