Just even more reasons that this is a stupid fucking idea, a stupid fucking tool and that god damn NO ONE has asked for it. This is a surveillance state wet dream. Also, hackers. Can you even imagine? Seems like a perfect tool for extortion.

From the post:

>Microsoft's Recall feature recently made its way back to Windows Insiders after having been pulled from test builds back in June, due to security and privacy concerns. The new version of Recall encrypts the screens it captures and, by default, it has a "Filter sensitive information," setting enabled, which is supposed to prevent it from recording any app or website that is showing credit card numbers, social security numbers, or other important financial / personal info. In my tests, however, this filter only worked in some situations (on two e-commerce sites), leaving a gaping hole in the protection it promises.

I'd use a Linux phone if they weren't so fucking expensive, and had decent functionality. I hate Google.

I read that people like postmarketos as a firmware/os but I have no experience with it. There are de-googled firmware's for other popular phones too (such as Graphene) but they typically only support a very limited set of hardware.

Yup. I've looked into it for my moto since it's so old that you'd think it could be done by now. I CAN do it, but it kills GPS functionality, and it apparently causes the data antenna to need manual cycling after it goes to sleep. Not worth the effort.

Yeah, I did a lot with custom firmware years ago... Odd random problems. Maybe the camera does not work right because no one has spent the time to figure that out or the (like you said) gps.. etc..

I used to have a lot more free time on my hands and would have helped figure that shit out. Not so much these days.
