From the post:

>Last month, Statcounter reported a notable decrease in Windows 11's market share, and the trend continued in April 2024. After reaching its all-time high of 28.16% in February 2024, Windows 11 plummeted below the 26% mark. According to Statcounter, in April 2024, Windows 11 lost 0.97 points, going down from 26.68% to 25.65%. Windows 11 is shit. It's interface is annoying as fuck, and it's gayer than OS X. MS wants to bake everything from shit-tier cloud services to shittier-tier game services that no one wants or needs - especially not in a business setting. After you spend an hour turning shit off you're still left with all this gay fucking web-enabled shit in the start menu. I thought Win10 was a piece of shit, and it is. Windows 11 is the whole sewage plant. It can go fuck right off. I've never had an interface that was so fucking anger inducing.

I'm still using 7 here, and I'm not sure what I'm going to do for a laptop when it dies.

Yeah, They are trying to force you into "cloud" systems at this point. What better way to get full control over every single you do than make sure your system is always talking to cloud services, storing everything in the cloud, spying on you 24/7/365. They have their spying/adware deep in all previous Windows OS's too but windows 11 takes it to a whole new level of fucking you over.

It's hard enough now to bypass the "You need a microsoft account!" to use the thing, it's going to be impossible soon.

Im on 7 also, never saw a problem with XP. I think it was the best offering from MS.

XP worked well. Used it long past its best by date.

Yeah there was a site you could still get updates on after windows dropped them. I think it was because atm's used it. I still have an xp comp.

I have no problem with linux except for always having to enter pw. One comp has it but its such a hassle.

I am the last person on my team running Win 10.

On the other hand, Linux market share is higher than ever, despite still not yet breaking the 5% share that OS/2 had at its peak. It's kind of funny also that that biased website has completely omitted it from their chart, and their data source, statcounter, has renamed Linux to "unknown".

Windows is a gaming system to me. For games that don't work as well on Linux yet.

Otherwise my home is only Linux.

This will start becoming true even for the general population at some point.

M$ already decided that the OS was no longer where they made profit years ago...
