This is an actual shame. This was the last bastion for computer users using older hardware. Not saying it was good, but at least you had the option to use older parts with it. The security "features" in Win11 are dog shit.

Win11 seems to be shit in general. I have some machines I have to tend that are just starting to get it, and it's just...why is it doing this?

I mean, the meme means I'd have to scream about Linux, but joking aside, I don't understand why people would continue to use Windows. Rumor now is win12 will be a cloud based distro, akeen to Chromebooks. What will it take for people to seek alternatives

We use it because our engineering design programs run on it. Things like AutoCAD, OrCAD, and others don't support Linux offically. Microsoft also has good compliance teams if you're required to be in tune with security mandates.

For all the shit that they give home users, they have gold-plated service plans for commercial users. Not saying it's real gold, but the services are there and they generally work (but are expensive.)

I hope by then, every last program I require will have official versions for Linux or work in wine.
