Not only do I remember that, I remember when Google was just the strange named version of ask Jeeves.
I believe this occurred when google won the homepage(Portal) war.
IE being used only to download chrome after windows installs is how most people setup.
But google attacked every angle possible by providing quick and functional product. The metadata wars only just started when storage became widespread.
We live in a dystopian society. Its way worse than any story ever told.

Saved. So what happened there then? The original lifelog was suppose to be more encompassing than what goolag is? And DARPA just offloaded a big chunk of the tracking from Google and unto Facebook? Goolag is obviously still here. Not like lifelog got shut down.
