The fact is the canary update is beyond overdue. The canary is dead. So you must assume that any activity on voat is logged and passed to a three letter agency for analysis. That is best case scenario. Worst case is they actually run the site now or have direct database / site access on admin level, logging all activity, ip addresses etc.
Unless you are a VPN guru or just don't give a fuck, any interaction on voat is a very bad idea. I personally use an old throwaway I made years ago and only lurk. But I'm sure every click, every impression is being logged and analyzed. For me, I'll take that level of risk, but not posting or commenting anymore.

Yep. Maintenance mode is code for archiving what we are doing. To be used later against us.
That makes no sense. Why not keep the site up and collect more data?
