I have a theory. I bet it's some of the nefarious characters on voat who went through everyone's user names here and they are attempting to log in enough times to lock the account (and all for revenge for leaving voat).
I could be paranoid but I don't put it past them.
I chose not to use the same name here and that might have saved me.

Very possible. I have a fairly secure password ... so there's that. I mean, who would ever guess Owlchemy1 with a capital O.
