My impression is that he takes vote manipulation seriously and really fucked up the roll out with these bans. It is also clear that for whatever reason he doesn't want the investor known. I also get the impression he is overworked and it is having a detrimental impact on his mental state.
I guess there could be some big plot involved. But what I've outlined seems more straightforward. Even that is bad enough. There are still a lot of old users banned - and him being as busy as he is means he could overlook unbanning them - even assuming he is inclined to.
It's a mess. Including for him. And he created it. No two ways about it.
He's refused to unban Obrez for what SGuevar and Madworld saw as legitimate voting usage. So I have no idea what his decision making process is for lifting the bans.
No one does, that's part of the problem. His lack of transparency is against everything voat was supposed to be.
On top of that, he's been using his personal, mysterious definition of what a "Builder" or "Destroyer" is and CREATING A CIVIL WAR because of it.
