Actually, I left Voat and re-established here shortly after Putt disappeared completely and Voat went down for a few days. I'd had enough. To me, the place started a downward spiral ever since atko left. I can't blame him for leaving, but he was the glue that both created the place and held it together. You're right, when Putt was mostly MIA, other than the downtime, it ran smoother. I think what really was the final straw for me was the Putt disappearance and the whole community began to change with huge influxes of escaping redditors. What was once a friendly hang out became a hostile environment.
Yeah, it's definitely not the place for friendly chit chat. It's not a nice place at all really. It's also not a place to really discuss intelligent topics. After the Reddit influxes especially it mostly in my case became an almost constant duel with seemingly young, and certainly angry, males. And that's really the nicest way I can put it.
Have really mixed feelings about being out of there honestly.
You can do both, many do ... we don't fault them - LOL
