Putt burnt the barn down. Now I can see the moon.
Yeah never forget you let it die you bunch of fags
Voat had what? 300 daily active users on average? And the shit died for lack of financial support?
...
And the codebase is still there https://github.com/voat/voat
And what now? Nothing, that's what
It's on you you bunch of fags
It did not die due to lack of financial support at least that is what I heard.
Then it begs the question; it died of what? Hm?
Maybe calls for violence made something happen that killed voat, who knows
I'm just gonna say that it's awful suspicious that Putt killed it on Christmas. When he told us he couldn't afford it, we all offered to donate. Voat was killed, it didn't die a natural death. Also, there was definitely more than 300 of us there.
Perhaps it was those who disliked freedom of speech that killed Voat. I don’t see Facebook or Twitter being taken down due to calls for violence.
How many daily users does Poal have?
I would say something around half of what voat had, maybe less, like 40% of voat
We're rising fast according to Alexa. Voat was 25,000 at its peak while Poal is at 113,000 right now, and jumped to that from 269,000 in a month.
I just wish I could see site statistics.
Poal was at 440,000 the day it was announced that Voat was going to be shut down.
And the shit died for lack of financial support?
Puttitout stopped selling advertisements and hasn't asked for donations long before voat died.
And what about the old codebase from 2017, you know, the CSS and all that
Why isn't anybody trying to build something out of it? Instead of complaining for instance
I don't think he wanted to continue because there was no money in it FOR HIM.
he was never very active, I think he used that excuse to get out. but its fucked up that he didn't hand it to someone or if it was financial in nature, allow us the chance to fund ourselves.
im not trying to argue, but voat never felt that empty. 300 in the middle of the night maybe.
i want it back, god damnit
