Biphasic sleep, also known as natural sleeping pattern, helps a lot, and not just with weightlifting. In old Europe a custom was to sleep at sunset for a few hours, then rise for a snack, or to catch up on letters, or perhaps a midnight stroll to visit neighbors briefly. Then back to bed until sunrise, followed later by another short sleep in the late morning or afternoon.
