http://www.vexen.co.uk/religion/ebionites.html#Beliefs
The Ebionites justified all of their beliefs by the example of Jesus himself: "he was circumcised, observed the Sabbath and celebrated the Jewish festivals, and taught that all the precepts of the law should be observed". They also considered the animal sacrifices to God found in the Hebrew Scriptures to be Satanic verses snuck into the text by God's enemies
Ebionites and essenes are two different groups, ebionites were vegetarians, john the baptist's diet was based on locusts and honey
If he was an essene he was a banned one I think, that would make sense
Yes but they all believed Jesus was circumcised as was jewish tradition at that time. I agree in that he would have been a banned Essenes as he did go on to form what we now call 'Christianity' after all
Jesus certainly was circumcised, but to claim that john did it is a stretch, there are more reasons to suppose that joseph did it eventually, or even simeon. That or some unknown mohel, nobody knows, nowhere is mentioned who circumcised jesus
