Yeah, everyone who was still going into work should have been getting enormous hazard pay. We're being told that we're risking our lives merely by going outside and coming within 6 feet of someone, and that not even masks will protect us (still have to wear them though).

So if there's suddenly an increased risk of fucking DEATH FOR YOUR WHOLE FAMILY because of a pandemic.... shouldn't we actual "front line" workers get compensated for taking this risk?! Nope! Fuck you, you don't have a college degree- get up in the morning and go into work. All of your "co-workers" who work in the office are too important to risk sending in. They might die! We need to reduce the risk by taking the highest paid people from your company out of the office and let them work from home!

I am still baffled that the average blue-collar hasn't thought of this. Just think- your manager doesn't have to come into work for a year. Let's say he has a 1 hour round-trip commute. That manager saved a year's worth of gas and wear on his vehicle by not having to come into work. That manager was exposed to less risk of the coof, less risk of a car accident- THEY ONLY BENEFIT FROM ALL OF THIS. Shop workers should've been revolting against this bullshit: "If we have to come in here and risk our lives, then you can come in and sit in your office while we actually get shit done." But nope, nobody wants to rock the boat, they just put their masks on and kept their mouths shut.

And that's why this shit will never end. Nobody wants to be the "troublemaker". They have families to feed. Fuck principles, fuck morals, fuck freedom, fuck medical privacy laws- I need this job!

So 3/4 of the morons working in Amazon's hellish, sweatshop conditions all said "nah this is fine, we don't need to band together to keep Amazon from abusing us"?

That's what I'm talking about. "I need this job!"

but we must consider that unions do have a way of costing jobs in the long run. and eventually all unions become abusive political corrupt machines. i'd say the workers should strike and punch mofo scabs trying to move in on the jobs.
