Social cohesion and exercise is good.
To an extent, but these team sports masculinize them and that destroys society. An observation I've made is that pretty much every women's college basketball coach eventually morphs into an ugly dyke.
Some one taking care of their body is a net gain.
Vigorous exercise damages the female body (12x more susceptible to knee injuries etc) and lowers fertility. Obviously becomes a greater problem when female athletes try to up their game by taking PEDs, which amount to transjenner hormone therapy.
Professional sports are the problem for male and female.
In a fascinating bit of trivia, Thomas Jefferson believed that all sports involving a ball were too savage and damaging, and that the ideal exercise for the American man was to take long walks with his gun.
For women, however, it is not pro sports as it is almost all sports as it spurs on a masculine mindset, and appearance, that just repulses men. Brings to mind Richard Nixon's rants about how masculinization was one technique that faggots were using to make women ugly to straight men so that the faggots could recruit them.
From that, I think the determining factor for whether a sport is good for females is if normal, red-blooded, non-soylent men find women playing it to be attractive. One metric of that would be if men would pay to see it of their own pure volition, to the point that it could survive only on these voluntary funds paid by men.
(Pure volition since an old college trick is to force men to pay to watch the women's basketball team in order to watch the men's team)
