I wouldn't be surprised if the recent rebellion pockets springing up after @Xigbar68's ban and my final "fuck you" to the manchild known as (((Adam Ladine))) spurred on this "bug" becoming a new part of Ruqqus.
He's desperate to keep users he's pissed off from leaving for places like Poal (hell, even Saidit) and he'll use his own legitimate lack of coding skills to feign ignorance to this.

Its literally just bots and shills there now. Hard to even attempt to enjoy the site. Sad because I literally spent the last 6 months there and was thoroughly enjoying it.
Yet these are the same people that complain when Heroku locks their account and still bills them, yet won't let users delete their accounts.
What about overwriting all of your content with random characters? Bonus is it means they can't compress it.
It can still be compressed, just with a much lower ratio. I just did some testing on my PC with yesterday's messages log using gzip, bzip2, and xz. It compressed, but the randomized messages file compressed far less.
