From the post:

>I worked for a boutique e-commerce platform. CEO just fired webdev team except for the most senior backend engineer. Our team of 5 was laid off because the CEO had discovered just vibe coding and thought she could basically have one engineer take care of everything (???). Good luck with a11y requirements, iterating on customer feedbacks, scaling for traffic, qa'ing responsive designs with just one engineer and an AI.

Similar fuckery at the place I used to work. Dumb new, non technical women and soyboys tanked a contract we’d held with DoD for over 20 years. They decided paying for SQL was too expensive and thought they could port over our SQL DB to mongo. But they did in secrecy w/o talking to anyone who’d ever read the reqs, so it failed and they lost the contract. The company got what they deserved, but a lot of good coders lost their jobs.

I can imagine the self congratulations on cost savings before the shit hit the fan, “These idiot engineers didn’t even know you could use a free DB, stupid white men!”

Fucking morons. Everywhere. They obviously didn't think that audits exist or that the contract does not require extremely specific reporting on FUCKING EVERYTHING.

I remember seeing DoD contracts for inventory that goes down to counting a single fing damn screw out of a box of 1k+. If you are off, you either eat the cost or have to fill out a shit load of paperwork to explain where the missing inventory went.

Its also a fucking DoD contract. How much more blood did they want to get out of that rock? Those usually pay like 40x more than what they should to start with. Someone thought they could cut corners and get a fat bonus or just outright steal the extra $$$ is my guess.
