Dave Plummer aka. Dave's Garage (former Microsoft dev) claims that every Linux distribution comes with a closed source binary blob made by Linus Torvalds himself and thus Linux "has the illusion of transparency". I knew he was a piece of shit.

Shill is correct. His comments reminds me of the M$ "Office X" which was a bunch of characters who demeaned any software which was developed as a possible contender to "Windows". The old Usenet forums on OS/2, BeOS, and Linux were filled with their assholery during the 1990's and early 2000's. Finally in 2002 one their shills doxxed that cabal and revealed M$ had launched a lengthy broad-banded program of defamation of ANY competing software.

"Dave's Garage" comments are bullshit. I have personally compiled several Linux platforms for unique and one specific task. There are NO "blobs" or other hidden coding in the source code. There may be some hooks in there once a driver is installed (NVida for example) but I don't do that.

Exactly. Yeah Dave is a shill and according to the state of Washington, a grifter. He's also fucking annoying to watch and listen to. I have compiled Linux myself and Linux has been open source since day 1 and if Linus Torvalds put something in there it would have been found a long time ago.

I've watched quite a few of his videos, and he always seemed a little 'off' even beyond his autism. I never really looked into his past though. Definitely feels like a hard-core anti-everything-not-windows shill.
