Does she want her boyfriend to be a sociopath? That's an entirely normal and expected response.

Something happened with my son and my gf told me it's okay to cry. I looked at her and said, "why would I cry?" she said to express your emotions. I told her I'm not about to cry and that even if I thought it was okay, it wouldn't be in front of her about this. She asked, "why not?", and I told her she'd lose respect for me. She said she wouldn't and I just told her "No, If I ever cry it'll be in the shower by myself," not around her. She didn't understand but I know she appreciates it even if she doesn't realize it. Moral of the story, don't cry around your woman generally speaking. She'll lose respect. Except at a funeral or if something serious pulls at the heart strings and then not in a wailing kind of way.
