Yep. That too.. and even I remember when Ellen dramatically came out people would casually use terms describing her in public conversations and her "partner" with terms like "bulldyke" or "carpet muncher". Mind you this was the early/mid 90s and l wasn't even a teenager. A popular comment then too was "fagboy" to describe a weak bitch. Also used openly in public conversations even with teachers around.

I miss that. There wasn't a plague of obesity being normalized then either.

Why Reddit can not be trusted.

In November 2016, Reddit CEO Steve Huffman (/u/spez) (old.reddit.com) edited comments of users criticizing him. (theverge.com)

Putting words into user's mouths, which means making them appear like they wrote something they never actually did, especially on sensitive posts, is one of the greatest violations of user trust possible.

Although shortly after he applogized and promised never to do it again, it clearly gives away how Reddit tends to handle criticism.
