"A straw man is a form of argument and an informal fallacy of having the impression of refuting an argument, whereas the real subject of the argument was not addressed or refuted, but instead replaced with a false one."

"An ad hominem attack is an argument or reaction directed against a person rather than the position they are maintaining."

There is still no evidence that this person either has covid, or is unvaccinated. this is just a picture of a rotoprone bed with some words above it we are required to take on faith.

Nobody said it's not real, it is not SUBSTANTIATED. Yet you insist that everyone take a reddit headline as gospel truth, then attack the commenter rather than the substance of the comment.

You want it to be true, therefore it is, without any supporting evidence. Just have faith. Sounds more dogmatic than logical to me.

Go peddle your religion elsewhere, Come back to talk when you want to talk provable facts with the adults.

link to the reddit OP comments:

they sound very familiar with medical terminology to me

on the basis of any version of the story being true, the poal OP has got nothing other than "herpderp lol reddit, am I right bois?"

You are actually arguing that blindly believing whatever you read is preferable to waiting for any actual evidence. What's worse is you somehow believe this makes you smarter than other people.

And, again, the burden of proof is on the person making the claim. That would be the person who posted it on reddit. You are still appealing to ignorance.

Hate to break it to you, but you are a blind follower. All it would have taken was exposure to different media sources than the ones you ended up finding and you would have been a q anon type. Their blind belief i unsubstantiated facts is no different than yours. You assholes may be in different vehicles, but you are driving down the same road.

Either your world is based on evidence or faith. Those who base their opinions on blind faith are idiots.

no, I'm pointing out what is a reasonable position to take.

facts: a lot of people have died from covid this bed is an extreme treatment for lung issues/covid this is a picture from a hospital this happens https://www.kold.com/2020/07/25/icu-doctor-says-rotoprone-bed-saved-tucson-covid-patients-life/

these bits are reasonable: a picture from someone who likely works in a hospital, showing what is known to be an extreme treatment for covid. There will be a lot of nurses seeing people dying from covid, and some of them will want to counter the anti vax tinfoil, and posting stories like this are common now

these bits are inferred: this could be a covid patient and the OP probably works in a covid ward because they had access, and this is showing an actual patient on end of life care. The OP is posting this as context because some people don't realise what could happen.

reasonable context: if I were a nurse and I believed that people were dying because they were not taking this seriously, then I would post the same picture in the hope that I could save a few more people.

equally you could think this is a larp from someone pretending to be a nurse, looking up some buzzwords and putting them in the right order, and somehow get access to a patient on a rotoprone who was dying of lung cancer or something. To me that's a lot of effort to go to, and if someone in the same hospital saw their front page post and recognised this room/equipment, they would be easily busted.

It's your job to examine your own biases in this and give equal weight to both explanations
