12 TB of porn? Back it up to dev\null and format the original drives. It's the best way too handle this.

Too expensive, prone to errors over time. Later, that tape drive won't work on newer machines. I recommend cheap hard disk storage. It too won't last more than 10 or 20 years, but it's faster and less expensive.
