You can get those very same symptoms with any respiratory illness including the common cold and the flu. Re. the loss of smell and taste - it's because mucus plugs up the area where the olfactory bulb sits, in your nasal sinuses - therefore you can't smell anything (or smells are warped), and taste is very closely linked to your sense of smell so that gets affected too. I've had this happen before when I've been ill in the past.
This "long covid" horseshit is precisely the same as, again, what can happen when you have any illness. Some people bounce back more slowly as a result of illness - doesn't mean we need a fancy name to further control the masses.
