What assholes ... they deserve all they get with Reddit. Rather than engage in 'free speech', they hide from it, because they may get down voted and lose all those valuable internet points they all covet so highly. As you probably know, I'm not into all the hate crap, I tend to avoid the drama, it's a needless waste of my energy as I can't change anyone's views and it's not likely they can change mine. That being said, though I lean to the right myself, I fully support everyone's right to say anything they wish that is legal. I may not necessarily agree with it, but each of us has as much right to make our point as the next guy. If I disagree, I generally just don't up vote - LOL - the whole point system is nonsense IMHO, but I digress.

Anyway, though I don't participate in the hate crap, that's why I fully endorse sites like this and was once a major Voat contributor, too. Free speech is more than just important in our society, we dearly need more of it. This is especially true now as the left has clearly decided that only their speech should be protected, with anyone who dissents being crucified. To me, 'have your say', with only minimal restrictions against those who wish to carry it too far (damn Pedos and such) is the only way to go. Also why I have never been a Redditor and don't respect those who are.

TL;DR I read it all and it was worth it.

Knowing that those with whom I converse are committed to our mutual ability to have said conversation without restriction is a huge reason to contribute content of any sort

Hey, not everyone likes everything ... nor should they. We all have the choice to simply ignore what we don't like ... it works for me. But on places like Reddit, if ya don't play to them, they chop your head off - LOL. You can't fight stupid, when that's the norm there.

Right, I'm saying I'm more willing to contribute ideas and comments on all subjects because I know the most extreme/controversial topics are also fair game
