Seems to me like those seeking "reddit alternatives" there don't really want "original reddit", but they seek some or all of the following:
- more censorship of "things I don't like" (i.e. an even safer space like raddit)
- different UI
- different features
- smaller community
Free expression is low on the priority list for those who are left. Part of that is that the censorship is invisible, so if they've gone that long on reddit without any inkling of the shadowbans, autodeletions, automods, autobans just for participating in a "sub we don't like", brigades, etc then they might like it that way (sheep).
Crazy that so many don't see that the "racist" weapon can and will be used to silence them sometime down the road.
I don’t know I still believe, free speech is enough to carry the platform. Enough of the right people just need to hear about it and the masses will start to see how important free speech is.
Don’t worry, they’re gonna taste it and crawl back begging for mercy.
Because we have too much empathy, we’ll end up saving them and they’ll eventually try to silence us again.
History’s repeating itself.
