Except in 2018 Gab deleted Patrick Littles posts for “anti semitism”.
Except they didn't.
I think this is along the lines of disinfo @bibblenuts was talking about.
Before Gab had their own servers, they almost got Parlered by Azure Cloud due to two of Patrick Little's posts inciting violence and criminal action. There was some back and forth. Little said he'd remove his own posts, then reneged. Gab was facing a deadline and they wouldn't have been able to recover from it - Microsoft wasn't giving them enough time to copy their shit and move.
I don't know if Patrick was told never to come back or not. It's been some time now. Perhaps he should be allowed back on. Patrick's fucking around almost singlehandedly killed the entire platform, so I can understand if they'd not want him back.
Highlights from the article:
"Gab's hosting provider, Microsoft Azure, has given us 48 hours to take action on two posts or they will pull our service and Gab will go down for weeks/months," the website's official Twitter account said.
One of the two flagged posts had in it:
"a plan to raise jews as livestock, providing a steady supply of vessels for vengeance for the hundreds of years of jew crops that will have to be raised for ritual death by torture."
The other Little post flagged by Microsoft said
"Count down to a live stream of me taking a sledge hammer to a holohoax memorial in twelve months."
Microsoft had them by the balls.
Torba doesn't want to keep Gab on Microsoft Azure in the long run. "We are actively looking into other hosting providers and our long-term goal is building our own infrastructure," Torba wrote, according to the BBC.
Torba's goal has been met since then.
Consider the anti semitic content Gab's official Twitter account (likely Torba) tweeted: https://archive.fo/EFMrW
Simply put, it's wrong to say Gab banned Patrick Little for "anti semitism".
