I remember the algebra classes in highschool. They didn't teach it to you, you just sat there and got lots of homework and were expected to learn it.

That was probably because the teachers didn't know how to do algebra. I had a teacher like that. He was assigned to teach math, but he couldn't understand the course himself, or solve the problems. He would get the smart kids to go up to the blackboard and solve them for him. Slimy, shifty, beady-eyed little lying fuck that he was.

I'm not sure. To me, it seemed like the teachers thought that since you were here and not in a general math class, you should already know what you're doing.

I started in Algebra 1 my freshman year, but dropped it pretty quick when I realized that if you weren't already in the know you wouldn't be passing this class. Didn't really bother me, I got all of the math I actually needed in my electronics courses my junior/senior years. That guy was good, he had been in electronics just about as long as there was electronics to be in.
