Order of operations.
Yeh the answer is right, but you can't just put brackets in.
The order of operations is a rule that tells the correct sequence of steps for evaluating a math expression. We can remember the order using PEMDAS: Parentheses, Exponents, Multiplication and Division (from left to right), Addition and Subtraction (from left to right).
You have to solve the Multiplication first, left to right. 220 * 1/2 is solved first, you would only need brackets if you wanted the 230-220 solved first.
And yes, you can just put brackets in if you are trying to clarify your equation and it doesn't change anything.
2 x 3 + 4 = (2x3) + 4
THAT'S NOT THE POINT OF THE POST.
and it doesn't change anything.
3+4×2, (3+4)x2, and 3+(4x2) are different. So brackets can change how you read a question, which again, was the entire point of the fucking post.
