Good point. Guess you can't rely on oil, timber, and tourism.
You can if you also grow the other sectors that support them, but that would take time to get it all in place and worked out. Texas may be the only state that is truly prepared for independence because they have so many things local to them including their own electric grid and deep water ports. That's a big credit to them that can't easily be added to other states and land-locked states are screwed on the ports entirely.

Wow! I had no idea that Texas has two ports that outrank CA ports on tonnage! Two ports in the top 3 is impressive. I will have to take your wonderful knowledge and go down this rabbit hole because I'm now convinced that Texas IS its own independent nation already it just hasn't declared itself as such. Texas definitely needs to secede and become the Lone Star nation.
