I do love to see a good cable stay bridge.

That is the Penobscot Narrows Bridge and Observatory. I guess it is kind of special.

Took a walk around the fort once. Pretty impressive but even back then it was a show of how bad government is at planning and someone was making a killing off of cannon sales, redesigns and additional sales for none of them to be fully implemented.

I have been there many times. I grew up in Bucksport. Have you heard of Alexander Flamencos new chronology? It raises some questions that might be alternatives to the bad planning/poor design idea. He went to school with Putin.
I'm jealous. I loved bucksport and the further NE coast of Maine. I could see myself moving that way if I could. Met some wonderful people up that way that gave me hope for the future.
No, I've never heard of Flamencos and what he's written about. I'd like to read up a bit if you've got a reference or two.
I got his name totally wrong but here is an article that might help you want to look further. https://bigthink.com/the-past/anatoly-fomenko-history/ It is calling him crazy. Feeo free to research further.
TIL there's a Fort Knox in Maine.
Maines came first.
